June 2016 + Canada Day (7/1/16)

June was a fun month for us! We started it off right by driving to Utah and spending some time with my sister and her family. Last time we visited, we missed seeing her baby by 12 hours! The kids and I loved seeing baby Emmalyn who just turned 2 months. Avery is going to make a great momma some day - she was smitten.

We started out the Utah trip with a trip to the nickelcade. Success! We all had so much fun, including the adults. I wish they had these in Colorado! This is how Avery & Griffin work the basketball game - from the inside.
Classic picture with the Y in the background and me sporting my new favorite T-shirt - "muscles & mascara."
The kids got to all sit in the back seat while we were in Utah so Karen and Emmalyn could fit in the van with us. Griffin was so excited to be with the big kids!
Saturday night bowling at the wilk. Ryan had an incredible comeback in the last frame to beat me by two. Also a reminder to myself ... only bowl 1 frame if you have all of the kids with you!!
Guh Goh & Papa Harbor were in Utah visiting family, so we met up with them at Cafe zupas - yum!
They even took Jaxson for the rest of the day/night. He had so much fun having that extra time with some of his favorite people. Thanks for taking him!
The following day we drove up to their hotel and went swimming at their hotel - kids loved it!
After swimming we ate a kneaders lunch and said goodbye. Hopefully it's not for too long!

Just a quick picture of how I found Griffin sleeping while at Karen's house. This kid likes to cover his face and head with blankets and we think its pretty darn cute!

Three days after we came home from Utah we FINALLY got to move into our house!! Oh happy day!! We spent the week unpacking boxes and have been organizing ever since. We still have a ways to go, but I am happy the boxes are all gone now.
My mom left me a box of Canadian goodies at my sisters house, so I brought them home with me. Griffin was a big fan of the Canadian corn pops (sooooo much better than the yucky ones down here). He ate 3 bowls every morning for a week straight.
Jordan (Ryan's brother), his wife Christine, and their baby Camden stopped by for a quick visit on their way across the country. We sure enjoyed having them and seeing our little nephew for the first time.
The kids loved meeting their cousin!
First Sunday in our new ward.
Sunday selfie before they hit the road.
Monday morning shenanigans. Griffin loves this hat and loves to run around the house wearing it.

Shopping at the local grocery store eating free cookies. Good one King Soopers!
Griffin found Averys shoes and thought it was fun wearing them around.
Dress up with these two. Jaxson is a police man. Avery's outfit sums her up nicely; She likes princess things but is crazy and silly too.

 Swinging outside in the backyard.
 Nakey baby!
Ryan & Avery caught a baby bunny in the backyard. They couldn't get enough and wanted to keep it, but we felt bad and left it go a few minutes later.

Eating sidewalk chalk. We asked Griffin if he ate any and he said noooo! This oddly reminds me of one my brothers (can't remember if it was Dallin or Robbie and the pool table chalk...)
One of my good friends from San Antonio, Gabi McLeish, was in Denver visiting her family - it was so great seeing her!! The kids had so much fun playing with their friends they had been missing!
Someone lost their first tooth. He even left some sparkles under his pillow for the tooth fairy, so she gave him and extra quarter. He was one happy boy in the morning!
Jaxson, Avery, and the neighbor kids caught this bunny. Poor thing was shaking uncontrollably for a while.
This kid absolutely LOVES bunnies!
Blogging a couple days into July 2016 now ...

We sure had fun celebrating July 1st - Canada day! I loved growing up where I did. When I go back, I am just in awe of the beauty of that place. My small Mormon town was great and I cherish all the friends I made growing up!  To celebrate, we did a wiener and smore roast outside for the first time in our backyard. I think it will be the first of many to come!

 One happy, messy girl.
Loving the giant marshmallows. I think he ate 3!
We spent July 2nd at our neighborhood pool party. Chic fil a, cotton candy, snow cones, games for candy, bounce house, etc... It was a blast!!

The kids finding money in the pool - Jaxson found over $2!
A pink starburst and coins she found in the pool. That is one happy girl right there!! We are loving summer and can't wait for more!

May 2016

The last 2 months have been BUSY! I know I say that every time, but I think it is defiantly true the past couple of months. In May, we moved out of the town home we were in and rented another place for 6 weeks while we waited until we could move into the house we bought. Although it was a pain to move (again), it helped us organize and be ready for our official move in date of June 12th into our home. So here is our month in a nutshell...

Our temporary 6 week apartment was a great place. I think the kids favorite thing about that area were the bunnies. Without fail, everyday we would see at least one bunny, but usually it was much more. Griffin LOVED them. He would point, hop, and try to catch them whenever he could.
Griffin the poblano ranch dip stealer. But seriously, how can I say no to that face?!
 Reading books before bed.
Jaxson ran (walked haha) his first 5k with me. Although it was somewhat frustrating, it was a good experience and we had an important talk on working hard and not giving up.
Griffin officially turned 18 months and was able to go to nursery at church. Lets just say he loves it and we are not surprised. All of my kids have loved going, which makes it easier on this momma!

One of Avery's favorite things ... blowing dandelion seeds.
Oreo samples at Costco - good idea or bad idea? I still can't quite decide.
Mother's Day! I feel so incredibly blessed to be these kids's Momma! I love them all more than they know.
Jaxson playing flag football. He had 2 back to back games were he played amazing - 4 touchdowns and pulled 12 flags. I had so much fun watching him!!

Field Day at school. Jax had a blast playing all the games! We use to have a track meet each year in elementary school and it was one of my favorite days of the year. I hope Jaxson gets to have a real track meet sometime soon - he would love it even more!

 Bean bag race
 Balance the egg
 Shoe kick toss
 Giant darts
More bunnys. I loved watching him point and get excited.

Last day of football for Jaxson. It was fun having friends (the Gertsch's) there each game to entertain my kids. This is Beck & Griffin
 Reese & Avery
Jaxson & Boston - great season boys!

We bought a house!! We closed on it mid May, but weren't able to move in until Mid June. I am happy to say we are in it now and loving it!
Playing at the park. Love this crazy girl of mine.
These swings are seriously the coolest. Kids loved them & I love that older kids who have disabilities can enjoy them too!
 Eating cupcakes. Those eyes!!
Dance Recital! Avery loved being in dance this spring. Her recital was very entertaining and had us laughing ... lets just say we are glad she didn't fall off of the stage. Like I said, we love this crazy girl of ours.

Daddy bought Avery her very first flower. She felt so special!
This kids both finished swimming lessons. Jaxson did a great job and passed his class! Now if we could just teach him how to bring all of his belongings with him when we leave the pool (we have lost 1 shirt and 1 pair of googles so far).
Jaxson graduated from Kindergarten. He was sprinkled with the magic 1st grader dust and did a great job with his recorded year end presentation. His end of year testing had him reading at a second grade level. We are so proud of this guy!!

So fun that these two were able to be in the same classroom this year!
 Onto first grade!
