Continuing on from my last post (I choose over 130 photos from Christmas to blog about, so I figured it was best to blog them in 2 chunks)..... December 30th is a special day in our house. We have an energetic, fun, crazy, cute boy who turned 4 years old! Jaxson and Avery celebrated with oreo pop tarts and crazy straws. Jaxson is just a bit excited it was his birthday. He kept asking people (and is still asking people (aka - he asked the dr. at his visit this week) if they know how old he "loosed to be" (he can't quite say "used" yet) before he turned 4. Most people haven't answered him correctly, maybe that's why he keeps asking random strangers.

Jaxson was so excited to have a "Pie.yata" (that is how he pronounced it) We kept it a secret from him the whole week, but as soon as we told him we had a surprise for him outside, he knew what it was.
We first tried using a plastic bat.
Avery took a couple weak noble effort swings ....
Then we switched to a croquet mallet. Much better and more efficient. We also dropped the blind fold after a couple of swings.

After Avery's nap, we went to Monkey Joes (a bounce house) where the kids had a blast running around. They are still at the age ( especially Avery) where you have to follow them around to each house to make sure they are ok.

At home, we had a little shindig to finish off the night. Rhonda and Erika brought these awesome bubble guppie (Avery's fav show) masks home.
We got these noise makers for the party. Jaxson kept calling it his "party tune." Also, at one point in the night he cried "this is a cause for celebration!!" Haha, what 4 year old says that?!
Awesome presents! I have a video of him opening his batcopter (batman) ... wow he was so excited. It is hilarious.
My mom always did this type of photo on our birthdays growing up, so I just followed tradition.

Over the Christmas vacation, Ryan did a lot of family history work. He spent hours talking to Papa and Grandma Riley about different stories they had to share. He also gathered a lot of photographs and scanned them. So proud of my family history hubby. I think this photo is so cute. Papa loved chatting with us and showing pictures from decades ago and we loved listening to him.
Avery snagged an apple out of the bowl on papa's table. I never really thought of giving her a whole apple before, but she loved it.

Erika, Rhonda, and I made some delicious Saltenas (Bolivia). It was a sweet dough filled with beef, potatoes, peas, seasonings, etc. They were a ton of work, but were really yummy.
More fun outside. Jaxson looks like he is doing an Irish jig. Seriously, this kid is good for so many laughs a day. We are so grateful he is a part of our family!

While we were in South Carolina, Grandma Riley had to go into the ER to try and get her blood pressure and heart rate down. She still wasn't doing so well when we left, so unfortunately our good-byes had to be at the hospital. Hopefully she continues to get better. We really enjoyed the time we got to spend with her this holiday. Rhonda and Lee made some quick balloons for the kids to play with while we were in the hospital room.

We drove up to Charlotte on Thursday (because our flight was supposed to leave on Friday morning at 6 am). We made a quick stop at IKEA and found these awesome mushroom hats. Definitely couldn't leave without buying one of those!
We also went out to dinner with a good friend of Ryan's. Right before we ate dinner Thursday night, we got an email from United Airlines saying our flight was cancelled and re-booked for 26 hours later than we planned. That was quite stressful and annoying. Rhonda saved the day and found us another flight leaving really close to our original flight time - so thank you very much!!
This photo was actually taken Dec.27th, but it was one of the 2 photos that actually had all of the Harbor family in it. Thanks for being with us over Christmas and spending the holidays together - we had a blast! Love you all!
Finally back in Texas. No joke, within 10 minutes of us walking through the door, we let Jaxson open his big birthday present from us - he was pretty stoked to have a huge fighter pilot toy. Happy Birthday Jaxy Bear!
