Sea Turtles n' such
We got up at 5:40 am Monday morning to go watch the hatchling sea turtles get freed into the Ocean. For about 5 years now, I have really wanted a small turtle (just like these) as a pet, and his name is going to be Milton :) It was super fun and cute to see all of these turtles (167 of them) crawling across the sand trying to get to the water. It was a fun experience for us (except for the 5 am stuff).

6 Month Stats
Jaxson is 6 months old day! I am so grateful he is a part of our family. He makes Ryan and I so happy with his fun spirit & cute smile. We just love him to pieces!!
Currently he is 17 lbs 12 oz. (~50%) and 26.8" (75%).

But they tasted so good!
We have a confession as a family .... we ate tooooo many oreo balls this past weekend while in Utah. For the wedding reception, Rhonda, Lee, & Emily made this delicious oreo balls. You blend up a pkg. of oreos into crumbs, then add a pkg of cream cheese until they are mixed. Then you dip them in melted chocolate and put in the fridge. WOW, they are super good. You can do a similar recipe by making a cake (devils food) and then crumbling it and combining it with a container of icing (rainbow bit or cream cheese) and make round balls, dip in chocolate. seriously, it is sooo good.
Needless to say, I think we ate too many of those "satan balls" as someone coined them at the reception for their extreme goodness and badness all in one. Unfortunatley, we had some negative results .... check them out. Not sure how this happened to Jaxson because he didn't eat any (it must have been chocolate milk?)

UTAH
We were fortunate enough to be able to fly to Utah this past weekend to see Ryan's sister Erika get married in the Bountiful Temple. It was a beautiful wedding and it just made me so grateful for the Gospel. I love that families can be together forever if we live righteously. It makes me so grateful for our Savior, Jesus Christ, who paid the ultimate sacrifice for us. I love my Ryan and Jaxson so much, it makes me want to be the best I can be every day so that we can always be together.
Here is Erika and Ryan. Erika looked beautiful!! We had a lot of fun seeing her and all the other family. Jaxson also had a good time because he was spoiled with so much attention!
Erika & Allan coming out of the temple. Best wishes you two!
Ryan and his younger brother Jordan. He got off of his mission (Minnesota) almost 2 weeks ago. It was sooo awesome to see him & he and Jaxson loved playing with each other. Jordan was an awesome missionary! I think its awesome for our young LDS men to go out and preach the Gospel -- you guys are amazing!!

The Past 2 weeks...
Life has been super crazy the past 2 weeks ish. We have been travelling around Texas and Utah. Even though it can be hectic, we are really grateful that Ryan has such a good internship and he is enjoying what he is doing. I just thought I would post pics of all the things we have been up to lately...
This is in Farmington Utah. We were watching Ryan's cousin play baseball, and Jaxson is starting to learn to sit up on his own. Its pretty fun to watch them learn :)

This is how Jaxson was napping one day. If I don't wrap him up, he loves to lay on his side with his hands and legs out. Most of high school I would sleep on my side with my arm straight out too.
Haha. Jaxson looks like a chunk here! (he really isn't though). This is after some yummy sweet potatoes. So far he has eaten rice & oatmeal cereal, green beans, sweet potatoes, and peas. He seemed to like them all. Or at least he opens his mouth when put the spoon near it.
He loves this toy! He sits in it for at least an hour a day.
Jaxson practicing his scales. Almost. He had fun pounding on the piano.
He loves food! I wonder where he gets that from...
Ryan's best friend from high school came and visited us while we were in Houston. It was fun seeing Daniel again. They went to a local gym to play a little basketball. Just look at these guys -- yep, they dominated!
We went to the aquarium again and this was a really cool cat (cerval i think?). It can jump 16 ft. up in the air to catch birds-wow!

Laundry Basket Photo Shoot
What we have been up to
Last week, we went to the Texas State Aquarium. We really enjoyed seeing the dolphin show, watching the otters swim, petting the sting rays, and seeing the turtles swim. Close by is the USS Lexington ship, which I think we will go and explore this weekend.

Rice Cereal
To celebrate Jaxson's 5 month birthday, we let him try real food! well, I don't know how real rice cereal is, but we let him have it anyway. We had been noticing a lot latley that he really wanted to eat what we were eating, so we finally let him eat. He actually seemed to like it I think. That is, he didn't make a weird face and spit it out or anything. We have been feeding it to him once a day for a week. Rice cereal seems really boring, so I think I want to start him on something else soon. I was thinking sweet potatoes, carrots, or peas. Any suggestions?
I thought it was funny how he was trying to lick the try where the cereal had spilled.
messy boy!
