A Poem ...

I just pulled out all my scrapbooking stuff to finally finish my wedding album, and its finally done!! Next on my list ... Jaxson's baby book. A month or so after he was born, I finished one page. I am going to work on a few more pages in the next few days, and as I was looking through all the props I came across this poem and I really liked it......

"Babies are angels that fly to the earth,
their wings disappear at the time of their birth.

One look in their eyes and we're never the same,
they're part of us now and that part has a name.

That part is your heart and a bond that won't sever,
our babies are angels, we love them forever."

I am not sure who wrote it, but I hope you enjoyed it!

Our talented Copy Cat

Jaxson has learned a new trick. Most of the time I think its really cute, and it makes me excited that he can see us do something and mimic it. When I am driving in the car with him, I will make the noise and even though he is sitting backwards, he will do it back - I love it! The only time I don't love this new little trick is when de does it when I am trying to feed him. Then I really really don't like it :(

This Week

Jaxson absolutley loves this stacking cups! They were Ryan's toys when he was a wee lad, but they have since been passed to Jaxson. As you saw in a previous post, I will stack them and Jaxson loves to knock them over. Jax thinks its funny when I put them on my head. I think its funny when I put them on his head. However, it is really hard to get a picture of the cup still on his head ... here is the best shot I got.

Having a hoot in his crib. For the past few weeks, Jaxson will cry in the middle of the night, and he is standing in his crib waiting for me when I go into his room. I wanted to make sure he was able to sit himself down after he gets up, so this is us practicing. I guess it was really fun for him?!

Just taking a nap.

Enjoying a rice rusk cracker. haha, funny name eh.

Jaxson's Hair cut

So I am not going to lie, I have been putting off this post for a week now. Jaxson got a hair cut last wednesday, and I was super sad after seeing his beautiful locks gone. After a few days of sadness, I have gotten over it. He is still my cute & silly little man, and I love him! Plus, Ryan shaved his head too, so now they are really twinners (we are going to do a photo shoot soon with the two of them :) So without further adieu (spelling?? haha) here is Jaxy's new look.

So he is crawling everywhere and is standing himself up on everything! It is a lot more tiring keeping up with this guy now-a-days.
Daddy & Jaxy watching football and doing manly work.

So I have many comments on Jaxson's hair that is makes him look older or younger. I have heard a bunch of comments of both. What do you think??

catching up again

So here are a few random photos in the last few weeks .... and tomorrow I will post pic's of Jaxson's new look ....

My rook hand ... heck ya, never had 11 trump before!
Rolling under the table.

Playing pass the lamb with his friend Lily.

Trying to learn how to sip milk from a cup. He can do it, but this cup gets milk everywhere and it is sticky :(

Ryan reads scripture stories to Jaxson everynight before he goes to bed. Sometimes I am very distracting to Jaxson if I am in the room at the same time. He is such a flirt!

I need advice!

Sometimes I have the darndest time trying to get Jaxson to nurse or take a bottle. He will nurse for about a minute or less, then get distracted with something close by (even though its in a dark room). He will also just bite on the bottle and will never really drink more than about 2 oz if that. I just tried to feed him and he won't take either :( What do you think I should do? I actually want to wean him because it is frusterating trying to feed this kid who doesn't really want to drink. Should I take away solids until he drinks or ??? please give me any advice you have!

Schlitterbahn

Jaxson loves this new little food strainer thing. He just ate a banana and it got everywhere!! Its cute to watch him eat though. He also likes eating pears or ice in it.
The last couple of days, Jaxson has thought it was funny to roll under my side table and get his cereal snacks out of my purse. What a smart kid!
Rhonda & Lee (Ryan's parents) came to visit for a couple of days ... they wanted to take Jaxson home in their carry-on.
So we went to Schlitterbahn for our anniversary gift from the in-laws (thanks!). It was a really fun and HUGE waterpark about an hour away from Austin. We had a great time :) Here is Lee & Jaxy right after a trip to the kiddie park. Cute picture! can you see any resemblance?
Me & Jaxson going down the slides at the kiddie pool.
We had fun floating down the lazy river...
I love this kid!

Utah Trip!

We were able to take a trip to Utah a couple of weeks ago to see Ryan's family. We really enjoyed seeing everyone and Jaxson loved all the attention. Once again, my blogging skills are lacking, so these pics are in reverse order of when they happened. oh well!

Jaxson met his future-BYU basketball team mate- Warren. His Mom, Janica, and I played intramural basketball together and also did a basketball internship together. It was awesome to see her and to let Jaxson and Warren meet! It's funny to watch babies interact :)
We went to the olympic ski park in Park City and watched the jumping show -- super cool!
Ryan and his brother Jordan. Cool dudes eh?
Us in the shade watching the jumping show.
We went to a super sweet resort with an alpine slide, zip line, and roller coaster. Jaxson couldn't do any of those things, but he liked the merry-go-round. How cute is this kid!

Rhonda & Emily Croft, waiting in line for the alpine slide.
Ryan pulling some triple back flips! (ok maybe double, but they were still cool)
Ryan before going down the zip line. He started out beating me, but then half way through I just flew by him!
We swam in this really warm crater. It was super neat! This is everyone who came (minus Rhonda & Lee).
I love playing with Jaxson and he loves playing with my face. My favorite is he bites my chin, then I start laughing, and then he looks at me and starts giggling.

Ryan and his friend Daniel. They grew up together in South Carolina and were best buds in High school. Daniel just got a job working for the U of U -- congrats again!
Right after a walk we did near Park City. On the walk.
