It feels like just yesterday I blogged and was caught up on all my most recent photos. Well, here I am again uploading 44 photos to share with y'all (I live in Texas remember?! I actually don't say that ... ever). I also have a hard time deciding which pictures to post, but subconsciously I have realized that when I post a lot of photos, I don't feel the need to do a lot of writing (perfect!). Without further adieu, this is what we did in May since my last post.
Thanks Mom for the cute "I love Canada" Shirts. I really do love Canada and have been craving a variety of foods I can't get down here (boo!) and I miss the cooler air (especially at night) and the pretty mountains. We live in the desert, and quite frankly it isn't that pretty.
Jaxson offered to push Avery on the swing - I love it when he helps me!
Day trip to Sea World - just feeding the duckiesWaiting for the Shamu show to start.
Zoe and Cookie Monster. Avery was scared to get in the photo by herself, so Ry and I hoped on in.
They have a really fun playground and splash area the kids like to play in.
Avery was the trooper (this time) and played in the colder water. Jaxson wimped out and wanted to be wrapped in a towel.
Jaxson has nicknamed himself "Jedi Cleaner Jaxson" this weekend. He has been wanting to buy a star wars lego set and I told him he had to earn some money to help pay for it. He has been helping me unload the dishwasher, clean and wipe the table, and fold some laundry. After he completes his chore, he gets to put some coins in his money jar (yay for positive reinforcement ... that or slave labor ;) But I am really and loving this help! (side note: I am pretty sure Avery is wearing a cape around her forehead in the background).
Jaxson helping to shave Ryan's head. Jaxson got the same hair cut when Daddy's was done. Twins!
Mother's Day wrestling. I love watching them all play together. I have been opting out of this sort of play lately because I tend to get hit in the stomach or face. No thank you.
Beautiful star gazer lilies from Ryan and the kids.
Last photo with my missionary cousin Mary. She finally got transferred out of our stake after serving here for 7 months!
Trip to Chuck E Cheese.
The day after Mother's Day, we decided to drive to Houston with Ryan while he worked there for 4 days. Staying in a hotel with kids is quite the adventure, but we survived. We tried bribing the kids with snacks and a movie in the evening to be quite and sit still (it only kind of worked)
We promised the kids we would try to go swimming. It was cooler, windy, and rainy most of the time we were there. It was about 6pm, 68 degrees, with a breeze. The water was pretty cold too. (I know, my Canadian family would laugh at us). Needless to say, getting into the pool was a bit difficult and we didn't stay long.
Ryan was the first to jump in.
Proof that I did get in the pool.
Cold Cold Cold
The last day we were there, it warmed up and was sunny! I took the kids to a park and splash pad while we waited for Ryan to get done work.
Jaxson loved the splash pad and kept asking if I would take photos of him doing tricks in the water.
Avery was the wimp this time and wanted to sit on a rock instead of playing in the water.
Guh Goh and Papa Harbor sent Jaxson these Star Wars Angry Birds toys - Jaxson loves them!
The kids have been loving it when Daddy jumps on the tramp with them. Down here in Texas, the hottest part of the day is actually around 5pm, so when Daddy gets home in the evening it is often too warm for us to want to go and play outside with the kids.
Jedi Cleaning Jaxson. He asked if he could clean the chair legs and seats for more coins. Yes sir!
Yesterday we were getting on and off rain. After dinner, we started getting poured on. We didn't hear thunder or see lightening, so we took the chance to go play in the rain. Avery was still in her diaper (just got finished eating dinner) and thought it was too cold to play. She only lasted about a minute on the tramp before she insisted she was too cold. We snuggled on the porch and had fun watching Daddy and Jaxson play.
Ahhh warm.
Love this photo!
I took a couple of selfies with Avery and then put away the camera. While I was putting the camera away, she said "more more more." I obliged and we got some cute photos to remember the night by. Love this girl!!
