April was such a fun month for us!! The first half of the month we were visiting family in South Carolina. I went out a week early with the kids and Ryan joined us after his big work meeting he needed to stay in Denver for. Here are a lot of photos from our trip.
Jaxson loved playing with these "pipe work" toys that Ryan use to build with when he was little. Jaxson made this car, monkey bars, a bench, table, chairs, see saw, etc. So cool!
Off to Home Depot for a kiddo craft
Papa helping AveryGriffin wsa having so much fun
I love seeing Jaxson concentrate on his projects - he does such a good job!
The kids spent a lot of time outside and LOVED every second of it. Love Griffin's face here!
Another favorite spot of Griffins - in the sand/dirt.Jaxson made this wagon to pull Riley around in
Conference weekend! Bribing the kids to watch conference with candy key words
Childrens Musem! The kids had a blast here!
They even had a carousel in the food court area. $2 for unlimited rides - yes please!
Such a fun place to visit with the kids!
Making egg nest cookies with the kids
First trip to the splash area of the zoo - kids loved it but it was a tad windy so we didn't play in the water as long as normal
More Easter crafts!
Noah turned 4 while we were there, so we did a joint pinata (to celebrate Avery's & Noah's birthdays). Kids got candy galore and we had lots of fun watching them. Happy birthday Noah!
This kid is a natural!
We took a day trip down to Charleston to visit a few places. First stop - The angel Oak tree. Gorgeous! This was the road heading to it.
This is one tree - incredible!! God is an amazing creator. I love watching my kids enjoy nature like this.
Selfie with my boy
The kids looking at bugs at the angel oak tree
We made a (quick) stop at the beach to play in the sand. Once again, the wind made it a bit chilly but the kids had so much fun anyway. Griffin especially loves playing in the sand!
Waffle house with Guh Goh & Grandma Riley - yummy & a tradition in the South.
We stopped by Papa's house and had a visit with him. It is always good to visit with him!!Avery & Noah's favorite thing to do was catch catepillars. No fear from this girl!
Making treats with Guh Goh.
Laying in the hammock - I need one of these in my backyard!
Sunday dinner with the family
Throwing rocks in the pond
Sunday night walk :)
Catching lizards was also a big highlight of the trip
Our kids tend to wake up around 6:30 .... which is hard in a house when most everyone else gets up closer to 8. Ipad for the win!!
Watching catepillars with Noah
This girl also loved it when Daddy caught her lizards and by the end of the trip, she was catching them herself!
2nd trip to the zoo to see the animals. Watching sea lions
Feeding the birds
Just one of the reasons tall Daddy's are awesome!
Looking at the lions
One night we went to a Columbia Fireflys baseball game - we saw Tim Tebow play!
We met Papa at Lizards thicket for lunch - yum! Good ol' country cooking. 4 generation photo
We snuck away early one morning to do some sealings at the Temple. Ryan and Lee had prepared the names and it was neat being able to family names!
Strawberry picking! Pay $12 and you can fill up your bucket to the brim. Sure wish we had these near us in Denver!
Jaxson had so much fun pushing down dead trees in the woods with Ryan. It was one of Ryan's favorite things to do growing up :)
Sprinkler funOne day we went kayaking on the river. Ryan saw this rope swing and took Avery over to it. After an accidental spill, she agreed to try it out. Ryan did too and it was awesome!!
Racing wiggle cars in the driveway. It is so much fun to get the gang out there and race. The adults have just as much fun as the kids!
Campfire smores!
Love this picture and love these two!! I can see the resemblance here!!
Easter egg hunt in the backyard - kids had so much fun doing it.
With such nice weather, we ate outside on the patio a lot. The kids loved having their own table.
Card playing with Grandma - she's still got it!
It was so fun seeing you Grandma Riley!
While we were in SC, we had family photos with the whole gang. Inbetween shots, I snagged a few on my camera of my kiddos. I can't wait to see how the professional pics turned out!!
Ending the photo session with some comedy & ripped pants.
We got back to Denver at 9am Saturday morning. At 10 am, we were at my friends house eating a yummy brunch and having an Easter egg hunt with lots of friends - the kids love finding eggs! Griffin did great finding eggs ... it was especially easy when he was taking them out of his little buddy Beck's basket!
Easter morning! The Easter bunny found us :)
Easter best before church. I am so grateful for my Savior and everything has has done for me & my family. I believe he lives and I can too!
It was a tiring Sunday! This is after church at 4pm
Daddy made the kids an amazing magnet board for the play room - this is when they woke up and saw it. Love Avery's face!
Jaxson was the Rooster in his Grade 1 play this week. He has been practicing his lines & did so well! Only a handful of kids had speaking parts & he had 5 sets of lines! We are so proud of you Jaxson!
Yesterday morning we woke up to 8+ inches of snow and our garage door not working ... so we stayed home and enjoyed time as a family. I sure love these kiddos of mine and the wonderful happy spirits they are!! What a great month - can't wait to see what May brings!
