Avery's Baby Blessing & Updates

Yep, I have been lame at blogging lately... I have been slightly busier than normal if you know what I mean.  Last week my parents were in town and we had a blast hanging with them.  My Dad hasn't been to Texas before, so we had fun showing him around.

This was a few weeks ago at Jaxson's favorite place-- Inflatable Wonderland ... aka. the bounce house.  He use to ask everyday if we could take him there.  Maybe we would take him there more often if he actually wanted to jump in the Bounce playgrounds and go down the slides, but he is much more excited to play the basketball game and mash alligators.

Skee ball (as Jaxson calls it). He just goes right up to the rings and tosses the balls. Cute kid.
Mashing the alligators.  He always talks about mashing alligators.  He even likes to pretend that their are alligators in our house ... then he mashes them.

OK... here is where my parents got into town.  This is my Dad (papa) and his cute little grand kiddos.  Jaxson cracks me up.
We took my parents to go see the Alamo and River walk.
The next day we went to Sea World and had a blast.  I love how we can get this close and feed the dolphins.  Jaxson (and me) both loved it- so cool!

He is one happy camper here.
Jax thought this parrot was pretty cool.  And yes, he does look like a homeless child (no shoes and all).  It is hard to keep shoes on this kid - I find it easier to just to let him go barefoot half the time.
On Sunday, we blessed our little girl in Church.  Avery Joan Harbor.  We love this little sweetheart so much.  I find so much joy and happiness being a mom, and I love Jaxson and Avery more than I could ever express.  I am grateful to a loving Heavenly Father who allows us the blessing to be parents.

The only "good" photo we got with my parents on the blessing day.
"We are a happy family"  .... we like to sing that primary song.  "We love Jaxson, yes siree, he loves us and so you see, we are a happy family."
 Our little angel
We also walked to the park and as always, Jaxson had a blast.   Due to my previous distraught-tedness (nice word eh?) I hadn't mentioned this to anyone.  While we were down at the Alamo, Jaxson took a tumble and chipped his front tooth (about 25% of what was showing chipped off).  I felt so sick to my stomach, and I was sad my cute little boy with his adorable-gap-teeth got hurt (and that he messed up his smile).  Luckily, I was only distraught for about a day.  We have some good friends who live nearby, and he is a dentist (he said he could fix it for us -  which he did :)  Anyway, you can kinda (not really) get a look at it from this photo ...
 Proud grandparents.
On Monday, we went to the Zoo - we had never been before and I love that sort of thing, so we had a great time.  This one shows Jaxson's tooth a bit better.
Don't want to mash this alligator.   When we were driving to the zoo, Jaxson told me how he was going to mash the alligators and hit the lions when it tried to bit him. haha.

They had a little petting zoo - Jaxson had a good time combing the piggies hair.

We enjoyed lots of good food while my parents were in town (oooo how I love food!).  This photo is at the Rainforest cafe --- the decorations in the restaurant were so cool.  There were large animals all over the walls that would come alive every 10 minutes or so.  They would even have "thunderstorms" periodically (no actual rain, but we could hear lightening and the lights would flicker) that frightened Jaxson.
One last photo ... Avery has been smiling more lately, and I find it just precious.

Avery is 1 Month Old!

Our little girl is 1 month old already!  So crazy but exciting.  She is almost 9 lbs now and is doing well!  Here are just a few of the photos we have taken in the past couple of weeks...

Jaxson playing peek-a-boo in his toy box. (no, it is not normally sitting on the counter in the kitchen).  I did have a cute video to post of him playing peek-a-boo, but my blogger just told me I had to use google crome, and now the way to blog is way different. It won't let me upload videos due to some error.  Any help would be very appreciated!)
Avery girl about a week ago.
Jaxson and Avery doing some tummy time.  I love how they are looking at each other here.

Jaxson has been requesting the bounce house again, so we caved in and took him.  He loves that basketball game!

The shark bounce house ate him up...
Avery chilling while Jaxson jumped.

Avery's 2 Week Stats

Avery is now 3.5 weeks old- crazy for me to think she is almost a month! She is still doing awesome- Sleeping and eating like a champ! Can't complain, she is such a sweetheart. Although this is a week and a half late, her 2 week stats are:

Height: 21.5" tall (90%)
Weight: 7lb 5 oz (22%)
Head: 35.25 cm (35%)

(In my defense, I think I have some pretty good excuses as to why this is posted so late. In the last week .... I have 3 episodes of severe bleeding, 1 trip to the ER (b/c of the bleeding), 3 doctor visits, 1 d&c sugury, and 2 re-stitching of the episiotomy cut. I guess because labor and delivery were a breeze, I was just bound to have a horrible post partum experience? Anyway, I am doing better now ... its been 3 days since I have had any issues! hooray!)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Everyone! We are so grateful to celebrate this time of year and the eternal importance it signifies. Jesus Christ lived, died, and was resurrected. Because of his atoning sacrifice, all have the opportunity to live as families after this life -- I am so grateful for this blessing.

We enjoyed an Easter egg hunt on Friday with some people from our ward. Jaxson had a lot of fun finding eggs, and had more fun opening them and eating the candy. (sad I forgot his basketball Easter basket )

The Easter Bunny found us this morning before church. Jaxson had fun picking up the eggs and looking at his candy.

Pure excitement over the Angry Birds candy he found in his basket

That is one happy kid. This is his famous "cheese" face

Now we can't forget our little sweetheart Avery .... This was taken about a week ago. Jaxson loves holding his baby sister (even if she is trying to eat his face haha)

Happy Easter everyone- hope it is a fabulous day for you all :)
