Once again, I did horrible this month with blogging... We've been super busy!
July started out with Canada Day (July 1 for those of you who don't know). I think I ate a cadbury wonder bar to celebrate haha. One day I am going to start making a bigger deal of holidays... I was just too lazy this year. No excuses next year though. July 4th, we went to a pancake breakfast with members of the ward, and then we invited 2 families over to our complex for a picnic by the pool. We really had a lot of fun.
Here is our little patriotic princess --- we didn't take any other photos all day...
On July 9th, Ryan's parents and cousins came into town. We headed down to the coast (Corpus Christi) for some fun. We woke up early one morning to go watch the baby sea turtle release - they are so cute!
oooo love him! Most of you probably don't know this, but when I am "older" and we have pets, I want a small turtle (his name will be milton) and Ryan wants a shark. yah, we are weird :)
We also went to the Texas State Aquarium. This was after one of the wildlife shows
Jaxson petting the hawk.
By the sting ray petting pool. There was a gigantic one (6 ft) one just sitting in the bottom- yikes!
Ryan tried to help Jaxson pet a shark, but he was too scared (don't blame him!)
My 2 cuties - this cool whale tale statue was right outside the aquarium.
Friday was "dress like a cow day" at Chic Fil A (my favorite fast food place). Well, we made some homemade cow spots, ears, and signs and we each got a free meal. delicious.
Sweet Baby Avery after bathtime
We really enjoyed our time with Papa and Guh-Goh & the Crofts. Jaxson still cracks me up with his smile...
Avery is 4 months old today!! I tried 3 different times to get a great photo of Avery girl, but I didn't quite get the perfect one. She is a cutie non-the-less and we soooo love having her in our home.
I have been wanting to make a couple of maxi skirts for a while now ... well I told myself I needed to make one of them today (especially after a stressful day of church ... I spoke in Sacrament meeting about "lessons we learn from the pioneers" and also taught the beehives about drug abuse. yah, I know - what a day!) I still have another skirt to make (floor length green one) but I am going to give myself another week or so. Plus, I really butchered the hem on this one, and need to figure out how to make it better (knit stretchy fabric is tricky to sew straight!!)
Anyone else super excited that the Olympics start this weekend???!?! can't wait!!
