January 2016

Janurary was a crazy month (I feel like I always say that). We had 2 weeks in San Antonio, a weekend of traveling up to Denver, and 2 weeks in Denver. We are renting a town home just west of downtown Denver while we are searching for a house. We still haven't found anything, but are crossing our fingers for something to open up soon.

Before leaving San Antonio, we had to make a stop at our favorite taco joint - torchys tacos. Lucky for us, they just opened one in Denver a week ago! :)
Telephone with Daddy
First day of primary for Avery. She is one cute, wont-sit-still sunbeam!
Griffin's new favorite thing to do. We have now become even more anal about leaving the bathroom door closed.
Playing puzzles with our princess
child labor for this cutie pie
Ahhh how can I resist this face
Jaxson's new years party the first week back at school
The boys having a party while the momma's play volleyball. Oh how I miss playing volleyball with my friends in SA!!!

Trying out the selfie stick we got for Christmas.
Selfies with my girl
We met some of our good friends from Austin one last time for dinenr and chatting. So sad to say goodbye!
Heidi & Vee - will miss you ladies!
Red lip Sunday with several of my friends from the ward. We were all nervous to wear red lips, so we got strength in numbers and mustered the courage to be bold :)
Saying goodbye to more great friends. Brennan is one of Jaxson's best buddies from SA.
Brennan's little sister Kennedi was one of Avery's best friends too.
Saying bye to Avery's awesome preschool teacher. Avery absolutely adores her.
Saying bye to Avery's best pal Scarlett.

Jaxson and his best buddy Joshua - saying goodbye is so hard!!
Eating one last time at lupe tortilla - their steak fajitas are the best!
Matching with my buddy and her angry face.
Ryan saying bye to his little admirer - Zach. He has always loved Ryan!
Saying goodbye to friends from the gym - Brady.
Griffin's and my friends - Charlotte & Lauren.
Saying bye to another best friend - Candis. Love you friend!
Last night in SA we watched Daddy play bball with the guys from church. The kids got to play with their friends one last time. Janie & Avery were in the same preschool class.
Liam (left) & Griffin were born the same day and both spent a few days in the NICU. Gracie (right) was born just a month earlier.
Jaxson & Jessica - church buddies.
Jaxson had to say goodbye to his amazing teacher, Mrs.Flores. I was bawling at this point and am trying to hold back tears while I type. I miss SA & all of our friends there so much!

Jaxson and the class he loved. Such a great school & class. We miss them dearly!
We took 2 days to drive the 14 hours to Denver. Avery thought it was fun to play in Griffin's crib at the hotel.

Jaxson's classmates all wrote him sweet letters that he opened once we got to Denver. This one is from his best buddy - so cute!
We took the weekend to settle into the apartment and now feel pretty good. Griffin got himself in a pickle and instead of helping him out, we naturally ran for the camera.

The cooler temps haven't stopped us from going outside. I thought this picture was pretty precious. We have a park just a few steps away and the kids have been loving it.

Trying on snow gear so we are ready to play once the snow arrives!
Playing at the park. Shortly after this picture was taken, Avery climbed up on a 7 foot ledge and jumped off. For the next week, she limped and we thought she had fractured a metatarsal. 8 days later we had an xray done (while we were at the urgent care for stitches) and was told that her foot looked normal.
"Look Daddy, I am Hercufleas."
We found a sled at Costco and the kids really loved playing on it, especially this one! His new favorite thing is sticking out his tongue.
Avery and Jaxson share a queen bed in the upstairs bedroom. It's cute to hear them talk at night but  frustrating when they fight  or wake us up in the middle of the night because one of them is laying in the other person's spot.
Within 15 minutes after getting home from church, Avery (was being silly & not listening) fell off the couch and split open her chin on the floor. I drove her around to several urgent cares during the beginning of a blizzard and finally found a great place to help stitch her up. 3 stitches and soon to be a scar that matches her momma, dadda, and Jaxson. It's a family thing, I guess.

Enjoying the snow that came down for 3 days in a row.
Griffin stayed inside but wasn't left out of the fun.
He particularly enjoyed eating the snow off of people's boots and coats. This kid!
They loved it!
Ryan trying to get the snow off the shovel and getting a cold surprise himself.
One of our favorite things about Denver are the recreation centers. The kids love the swimming pool/water slides and the kids club area. I can go exercise while they enjoy playing - its a great trade off.
Jaxson has been enjoying his new kindergarten class, although it is only 2.5 hours long (as opposed to a full day in Texas).
Another great find ... the local grocery store double horse ride for 1 cent. Best penny ever spent!
Lastly, just snapping a few photos of my sleeping babies. Love them!
Socks to help lotion to soak into his chapped hands, and a little stuffed animal for comfort. Love this photo!
