Dec 2018

I am sad that my favorite month of the year has come and gone but looking back on these pictures brings a smile to my face. We had a great month and enjoyed all the different activities we got up to.

Avery started out December with missing her 2nd tooth.
Our ward Christmas party this year was an {ugly} Christmas sweater/PJ breakfast. Love matching with Ry.
Santa found the kids at the party and gave them each a big size skittles - lucky!
Building with some new plus plus toys he earned. Jax is our little builder.
Last basketball game for the year. Jaxson played up in a higher age group with friends and hopefully learned some skills he can use when he starts his new season in a couple of weeks.
I took Avery to go see the Nutcracker play in Parker. I am glad she loved it as much as she did.
We met up with some of our good friends and made an afternoon out of it.
Our front row seats were awesome!
We went to Ryan's annual Christmas party - like always the food was good and it was fun to get all dressed up.

Jaxson had to do a passion project for his GT class. He choose to research Leonardo da Vinci and his inventions. Good job buddy!
Jaxson also lost a tooth just before Christmas - he had 3 of his top teeth missing at the same time.
We drove up to Canada for the Christmas holidays. Lucky for us the roads were clear! The kids immediatly started playing with the cousins and having a great time.
Sunday Dec 23rd we had a Christmas Eve (eve) dinner & program at my parents house - this way everyone could be together for it but also enjoy Christmas eve with their own familes at their own houses.
Jaxson and Claire - they get along so well and love hanging out with each other.
Dog pile & wrestle session right after the program was done.
Ryan was being the fun uncle and giving all the kids horse back rides.
We went into Lethbridge to go swimming on Christmas Eve. I was impressed with the kids jumping off the high dive - Avery did it 10 times!

Avery & Faye

Christmas Eve pajamas!
Christmas morning - my fav! I love watching the kids and their excitement of it all. My favorite thing growing up was when I snuck upstairs and turned on the Christmas tree lights so I could see what Santa left. Magical!

Xbox for the lucky boy.
Jaxson got brain flakes from Santa and we had fun building shapes together. This one is a ball.
Huge JoJo Siwa bow for Avery.
Dinosaur play dough for Griffin. He was so excited!
Pink glittery light up boots were perfect for Avery.
Star wars dress up clothes.
Love me some Harry Potter stuff! We like to play clue at our house so I am excited to play this version with them.
1 ticket each to Disneyland this year - lucky kiddos!
After Christmas morning down time - Papa is so good to play with the kids.
More building - this time a rocketship!
This is where the cousins play - the basement. Its nice & big and can hold them all.
Christmas evening bingo! The kids loved it and it brought great memories of us playing it with Grandma Riley.
Christmas night hot tubbing --- ahhh so relaxing!
Boxing day fun with cousins at Justin & Amelia's house.

Uncle Justin took some of the people ice fishing. Jaxson & Ryan went and had a great time. Maybe next year they will go out earlier in the morning to catch more fish - just caught 1 this time.

We took the kids ice skating for the first time. It was a bit of a rough go at first, but they all improved so much in just an hour. It was fun showing them some of our traditional Canadian activities.

More cousins arrived! These 2 cute kids are friends one minute and enemies the next. I am sure in the next few years they will be the best of cousins.

Early morning ipad session with Jace & Beck.
We celebrated Jaxson's 9th birthday a day early by going to a movie in town - Ralph Breaks the Internet. It was fun having so many cousins there to celebrate with.

Brownies & ice cream for all.
We woke up to 12 inches of snow on Jaxson's real birthday. Uncle Jason and the kids made a fun snow tunnel in the back to play in.

Can't believe my baby boy is now 9. We are so proud of you Jaxson! You had a good heart and desire to do what is right. You are smart and having a good sense of humor. Thank you for being our amazing oldest son!

We left Canada and headed down to Idaho Falls to see Grandma Riley on our way back to Denver. We celebrated New Year's Eve with her and had a lovely visit.

The kids were excited to have the New Year's Eve festivities going on.

The kids with their Great Grandma Riley.
These two have a special bond - I am glad they were able to get to catch up.
On the way out from visiting Grandma Riley, the kids were so excited to find really long icicles - we don't get them this long in Denver. We drove the rest of the way back to Denver and are mostly caught up on life. The kids have 1 more day off school then it is back to our schedule. It was a great month - we loved every minute of it. I am so grateful to our Savior Jesus Christ, the reason we celebrate Christmas. Because of him, we can be try our best, repent when we do wrong, be forgiven, and have the ability to live with our families beyond the grave. I can't think of a more amazing blessing and promise.
