July

Once again, I did horrible this month with blogging... We've been super busy!

July started out with Canada Day (July 1 for those of you who don't know).  I think I ate a cadbury wonder bar to celebrate haha. One day I am going to start making a bigger deal of holidays... I was just too lazy this year.  No excuses next year though.  July 4th, we went to a pancake breakfast with members of the ward, and then we invited 2 families over to our complex for a picnic by the pool.  We really had a lot of fun.

Here is our little patriotic princess --- we didn't take any other photos all day...

On July 9th, Ryan's parents and cousins came into town.  We headed down to the coast (Corpus Christi) for some fun. We woke up early one morning to go watch the baby sea turtle release - they are so cute!
oooo love him!  Most of you probably don't know this, but when I am "older" and we have pets, I want a small turtle (his name will be milton) and Ryan wants a shark.  yah, we are weird :)
We also went to the Texas State Aquarium.  This was after one of the wildlife shows
 Jaxson petting the hawk.
By the sting ray petting pool.  There was a gigantic one (6 ft) one just sitting in the bottom- yikes!
Ryan tried to help Jaxson pet a shark, but he was too scared (don't blame him!)
My 2 cuties - this cool whale tale statue was right outside the aquarium.
Friday was "dress like a cow day" at Chic Fil A (my favorite fast food place).  Well, we made some homemade cow spots, ears, and signs and we each got a free meal.  delicious.
 Sweet Baby Avery after bathtime
We really enjoyed our time with Papa and Guh-Goh & the Crofts.  Jaxson still cracks me up with his smile...

Avery is 4 months old today!!  I tried 3 different times to get a great photo of Avery girl, but I didn't quite get the perfect one.  She is a cutie non-the-less and we soooo love having her in our home.

I have been wanting to make a couple of maxi skirts for a while now ... well I told myself I needed to make one of them today (especially after a stressful day of church ... I spoke in Sacrament meeting about "lessons we learn from the pioneers" and also taught the beehives about drug abuse. yah, I know - what a day!)  I still have another skirt to make (floor length green one) but I am going to give myself another week or so.  Plus, I really butchered the hem on this one, and need to figure out how to make it better (knit stretchy fabric is tricky to sew straight!!)
Anyone else super excited that the Olympics start this weekend???!?!  can't wait!!

Avery is 3 months!

My blogging has been lacking a lot lately (blame it on etsy -- I am getting much more busy with it recently).  We have also been very busy looking for housing options, as our lease ends up in August.  Life is still great, loving every minute of it.

Here's Daddy with his cute paci kiddo's
our little amazing sleeper.  She wakes up once a night or not at all.  LOVE THIS!  She is starting to wake herself up when she gets out of her swaddle though...
 smiley girl
Love my kids.  Love them!  We are just loving being parents and all the true happiness that comes along with it

Our last three Friday evenings have been spent playing at Chuck E Cheese.  I grew up in a small town, and the nearest chuck e cheese from me was 3 hours away ... I only remember going once (deprived, I know haha).  Well, Jaxson is a spoiled one I guess.  He loves the bowling game, baseball game, skee ball, football game, and the ducky-punch game.
This one we shoot peanuts into the animals mouths ...  awesome, I know.

We like to get our "drawings" done while at we are there too.  Me and My girl.

It has also been nice and warm lately (tomorrow and Tues are supposed to be 106 ... yikes!)  So we went to the pool yesterday to play.  Jaxson is learning how to swim and has actually been letting us put a life jacket on him (I am such a paranoid mom - I am always scared he is going to hurt himself -- so I am so glad he has been wearing one).

Beach Baby  (or pool baby I guess :)
her new favorite thing ... sucking on her fingers
 love this photo!
Jaxson making hand prints on the wall
Avery is officially 3 months already!  She giggled for the first time this week, has rolled over from front to back, and is starting to "talk" a lot!

Here's a quick HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Rhonda - Ryan's mom!

A Little Bit of This n' That

I can't believe it is June already!  Our little girl is already 2+ months old... this picture was taken on her 2 month birthday.  She is beginning to smile and react to our silliness and we just love it!
My neighbors have an adorable 5 year old girl who has been my Headband Model for my Etsy shop lately. Well sometimes Jaxson also likes to put the headbands on and pose for a picture too.. well more like steal my headbands (I caught him once with 5 on his head)
Jaxson playing Angry Birds on Daddy's phone.
Hahah I love this kid.  Speaking of which ... 2 things he said recently which were just awesome!

1.) After church today, I got set apart as a Beehive Adviser (just switched as I was a laural adviser ... for the past 3 years....).  Well, after the setting-apart was done, Jaxson threw his hands up in the air and said "YAAAA! Mommy's baptized!!" All the people (20+) in the room burst out laughing.

2.) Last Friday we spent a good bit of time (3hrs) at the lovely DMV (grrrrr).  It was a tiny room, packed with lots of annoyed people and there were only 2 ladies doing the paper work (aka... it was SLOW).  Jaxson was being Jaxson and bouncing off the walls, talking really loud, and just being a nut. Finally we were called up and got our paperwork done (yaaay!), Ryan picked up Jaxson and as we were heading out the door, Jaxson looked at everyone still waiting and said, "BYE EVERYONE!"  Once again, everyone burst out laughing (it helped diffuse the tension in the room)

Avery dressed up ready for Church.
My cute hubby and our paci children. Love them all!

Avery's Baby Blessing & Updates

Yep, I have been lame at blogging lately... I have been slightly busier than normal if you know what I mean.  Last week my parents were in town and we had a blast hanging with them.  My Dad hasn't been to Texas before, so we had fun showing him around.

This was a few weeks ago at Jaxson's favorite place-- Inflatable Wonderland ... aka. the bounce house.  He use to ask everyday if we could take him there.  Maybe we would take him there more often if he actually wanted to jump in the Bounce playgrounds and go down the slides, but he is much more excited to play the basketball game and mash alligators.

Skee ball (as Jaxson calls it). He just goes right up to the rings and tosses the balls. Cute kid.
Mashing the alligators.  He always talks about mashing alligators.  He even likes to pretend that their are alligators in our house ... then he mashes them.

 Mashing Alligator Champions.
 Avery after her bath
OK... here is where my parents got into town.  This is my Dad (papa) and his cute little grand kiddos.  Jaxson cracks me up.
We took my parents to go see the Alamo and River walk.
The next day we went to Sea World and had a blast.  I love how we can get this close and feed the dolphins.  Jaxson (and me) both loved it- so cool!

He is one happy camper here.
Jax thought this parrot was pretty cool.  And yes, he does look like a homeless child (no shoes and all).  It is hard to keep shoes on this kid - I find it easier to just to let him go barefoot half the time.
On Sunday, we blessed our little girl in Church.  Avery Joan Harbor.  We love this little sweetheart so much.  I find so much joy and happiness being a mom, and I love Jaxson and Avery more than I could ever express.  I am grateful to a loving Heavenly Father who allows us the blessing to be parents.

The only "good" photo we got with my parents on the blessing day.
"We are a happy family"  .... we like to sing that primary song.  "We love Jaxson, yes siree, he loves us and so you see, we are a happy family."
 Our little angel
We also walked to the park and as always, Jaxson had a blast.   Due to my previous distraught-tedness (nice word eh?) I hadn't mentioned this to anyone.  While we were down at the Alamo, Jaxson took a tumble and chipped his front tooth (about 25% of what was showing chipped off).  I felt so sick to my stomach, and I was sad my cute little boy with his adorable-gap-teeth got hurt (and that he messed up his smile).  Luckily, I was only distraught for about a day.  We have some good friends who live nearby, and he is a dentist (he said he could fix it for us -  which he did :)  Anyway, you can kinda (not really) get a look at it from this photo ...
 Proud grandparents.
On Monday, we went to the Zoo - we had never been before and I love that sort of thing, so we had a great time.  This one shows Jaxson's tooth a bit better.
Don't want to mash this alligator.   When we were driving to the zoo, Jaxson told me how he was going to mash the alligators and hit the lions when it tried to bit him. haha.

They had a little petting zoo - Jaxson had a good time combing the piggies hair.

 Riding the kimono dragon
We enjoyed lots of good food while my parents were in town (oooo how I love food!).  This photo is at the Rainforest cafe --- the decorations in the restaurant were so cool.  There were large animals all over the walls that would come alive every 10 minutes or so.  They would even have "thunderstorms" periodically (no actual rain, but we could hear lightening and the lights would flicker) that frightened Jaxson.
One last photo ... Avery has been smiling more lately, and I find it just precious.
