Catching Up

I have a big post coming up on Sunday from our very recent trip to Echo Lake, Montana (we just got back yesterday!).  I figured I would quickly blog the remaning photos I had between my last post and our trip so I am up to date :)

I don't know why this cute photo didn't make it onto the last post.  Avery tried on the NASA space backpack while we were at the children's museum (from last post)
This sweet lil' guy needs to go to bed earlier and wake up later ... he has been falling asleep lately in the afternoon, and then he won't go to bed at night.
How I found Avery at nap time - she always manages to do something silly during naptime!
Super Mario white belted Ninja karate kid.
Uncle Robbie came and spent a few days with us during his med school interviews.  We all loved having him visit!
 Another of Jaxson's awesome creations.
Love it when they play together!
Ryan and I went to the shooting range and the Cheesecake factory for a recent date - so fun!!  I am actually pretty scared of guns and am a horrible shot.  Ryan is quite good and hit his first 4 dead on! Sharp shooter!
Happy 8th Anniversary (on the 29th) to this sweet guy - I love you!!

End of July 2014

Time to catch up blogging again.  We haven't done anything majorly exciting, but here are the photos to document what we have been up to this month. Starting off with Jaxson falling asleep mid-day after insisting he isn't tired.  He stopped taking naps a little after 3 years old, but occasionally hes still falls asleep during the day.  It's probably because he gets up too early and stays up too late. We put him in his room between 7:30-8pm, but he stays up and plays in his room - his most recent quote is "now let the inventor by night do it right." Funny kid.
Both kids snuggling with me for a while.  Usually they are both all over Ryan, so it was nice to have them snuggling with me for a change :)
Ah good ol' July 11 - Chic Fil A appreciation day, and boy do we appreciate our favorite fast food chain.  We dressed in our best cow attire, homemade masks and all, to get free food.  Yum!

It was also free slurpee day on 7/11
We topped off that day with a trip to the splash park.  As far as I know, this is the only splash park (not at Sea World/Six Flags) in the San Antonio area (so lame!).  The kids have fun at it though :)

There is also a neat playground next to the splash park.  Avery found the perpetual spinning thing and kept going in circles - hilarious to watch her walk afterwards! (does that make me a bad mom??)
snuggling, napping, and watching bubble guppies (Avery's favorite)

Getting ready for church.
Me and my sweet buddy before church
Avery wanted a photo too.  Look how long her hair is getting!!  It is growing longer in the back right now, so it is kind of mullet-ish .... but we will take it for now!  I usually put her hair in a ponytail and it looks adorable, but she pulls it out after a couple of hours - and then it looks terrible (see next photo).  Any advice getting the little girls to leave bows/elastics in their hair?!
A friend mentioned that she got a neat magnet set from amazon - so I snagged one for the kids - they love it!  I like seeing Jaxson's creativity show as he makes "creations." I even overheard Avery say to Jaxson (nice creation Jaxson!)
Proud artist
Fell asleep in mommy's bed
Jaxson played too hard one day on our lunch date .  RRRIIIIPPPP!
Today, we drove to New Branfuels to the Children's Museum.  The kids were super excited to play!

Love that Avery was looking and smiling!
Avery filled her grocery cart to the brim ... I think its an inherited trait (right Guh Goh Low?!)
Jaxson spent most of his time building an obstacle course outside.
The finished project (he had help from friends btw)
Giddy-up!
Before we left, Jaxson and Avery discovered the Space section.  Jaxson loved putting on the suit and walking through "space." It was actually a pretty cool darkened room with small lights everywhere.  Fun day for all of us!

June & July 2014

Have I really not updated the blog in a month?!  I can't believe how fast the weeks fly by - seriously, I am already 20 weeks pregnant - which is over half way there in my case!!  We have had a FUN June and July, like my normally blogging style - here is a lot of pictures with minimal writing :)
Avery is modeling a rhinestone bow I put in my Etsy shop.  I loved the cute faces she was making for me.
Jaxson has taken a few swimming lessons and has been loving it!!  It is so fun to watch him learn and get better at swimming.  He has another week of lessons at the end of July and is excited for those!

Ryan's brother Jordan & his wife Christine visited us the week after we got home from vacation.  Naturally, we hit up the shooting range.

I thought it was fun to dress up similar to my baby girl.
Avery has been giving some GOOD snuggles lately and we are taking full advantage of it!
The kids loved playing outside with Jordan & Christine.

Avery watching bubble guppies with Jordan before they left.
 17 weeks pregnant!

I love this girl more than I can describe!
One of the funny pictures we got from our latest Chuck E Cheese run ... Avery looks a little worried at the way Jaxson was racing the horse.
I found a great deal on icecream drumsticks at Costco - the kids (and Parents!) have been enjoying them too.
Another trip to Sea World.  The kids loved the merry-go-round.  I think it is too hard for both of the kids to look at the camera AND smile... at least they are both looking right?  Good smile Ryan!

Riding rides in the kiddie area.
Avery's first time on the spinning one - she loved it!

(Briefly) meeting Zoe and Cookie Monster.
Here is a quick taste of the dance moves Avery was pulling while she watched the Sesame Street Show.
Fun play area for the kids...
Kids love seeing the Sesame Street Characters walking around.
We had a special July 1st (Canada Day!) breakfast. Yummy - these yeast Belgium waffles are fantastic!
Jaxson wanted me to take some photos of him one day while I was photographing headbands for my shop - silly boy.
When I see this, my heart melts!  Unfortunately, I knew that they were really alternately pinching each others backs and about to break down in tears until I yelled at them to stop.  But the picture turned out cute!!
July 4th!  We went to a small town nearby and enjoyed a parade.  Do all parades not hand out candy anymore?  Sad!! It was still fun though.

A little red, white, and blue yogurt parfait for a treat.
We went to a friends house in the evening for dinner and fireworks.  It rained when we got there, so we sat in the garage until it stopped.  Jaxson had fun making fruit and brownie kabobs (notice he doesn't have any brownies -- he is so not like me in that way.  Mine would have been packed with brownies!)
Finally we got a break in the rain to have fun with fireworks.

Avery loved the them!  She actually almost had a big one go off in her face and hair - luckily that didn't happen and everyone was safe!

Avery loved helping Ryan set them off.  Jaxson on the other hand was a bit more scared and shy about the fireworks.
I told Avery I was scared of the fireworks and she needed to save me.  She kept giving me tight squeezes while saving "I save you, I save you!"  Ah, I loved it - so darling!!  She is a sweetheart that's for sure!
Jaxson loved getting a light saber glow stick - now he can be a real Jedi knight.
What a fun day!  Loved spending it with these two cuties!
