Canada Trip: The Rest

Jaxson did such a good job on both flights to Canada. He was entertaining the flight attendants, the lady to my left, and the two ladies behind me. He is such a flirt! It was also SOOOO nice to have an empty seat beside me on both flights on the way out there. (unfortunaltey, I wasn't that lucky on the way home, and Jax didn't fly as well....but lets not talk about that not-so-pleasant memory). I also let Jaxson play with the sky mall magazine and he loved it (it said if we take it, then they will replace it, so I figured it was ok??) He loves playing with paper, I just have to keep a good eye one him because he also likes to eat it.
Jaxson meeting two of his cousins. Claire (Julie & Brian's) is in the middle and Talia (Jason & Kamry's) is on the right.
Jaxson loved seeing the other babies. He would start kicking his legs and talking when he would see them.
Eating buddies
Jaxson loved jumping in this jolly jumper. Thank you Amelia & Justin for letting me borrow it for the trip! He also tends to fill up his diaper when he is jumping .... right Leslie? haha sorry again for that!
Jaxson's prune mustachio.
Just playing at my house in Southern Alberta.
Julie & Claire playing at the house with Jax & I.
We drove 3 hours to our cabin on the lake in Montana. Jax was a champ the entire trip, except for the last 10 mins or so. I was also trying to teach him about basketball ... jokes, but we found this cool plush toy for him after Julie and I finally de-junked our room from our younger years.
Jaxson and Talia playing at the cabin at Echo. I love being at the lake! Spending weeks on the water, playing cards, eating food, and watching movies are just some of the fun things we have done for years at our cabin. It was awesome to be able to spend 1.5 weeks there recently!
Jaxson had fun playing in the baby pool. I tried putting him in the lake ... he liked splashing with his feet, but when I got him wet up to his belly, he was not a fan! ya, I think we will just stick to the warm pool.
Jaxson and Claire playing.
Jax & Talia had fun together in the pool.
I loved it how Jaxson started to be really cuddly at Echo. He would put my head on my shoulder, wrap his arms around me, and lay on his chest and would fall asleep. cute!
Karen did Jaxson's hair .... un-intentionally. We dry it after he gets out of the tub because there is so much of it, so Karen dried it his hair with a dryer and it was stuck flipped up like his for a couple of days.
Kara (Justin & Amelia's) was being cute and sharing the balls with Jaxson.
Karen playing catch with Zach (Justin & Amelia's)
Jaxson and my mom making popcorn.
Amelia with Kara.
We took turns making meals for everyone. This was Jason & Kamry's turn. Chicken fajita's - yum!
Mom (aka Grandma to Jaxson) entertaining Jax while I played cards.
My Dad (aka Grandpa) with all his grandkids. It was a struggle to get them all to look and hold still ... as you could probably tell from the picture.
Grandkids!
Can you tell anything about their personalities by looking at them? haha

Uncle Rob loved playing with Jaxson. Rob just got off his mission (California, Arcadia) -- he was a stellar missionary!

Kate (Justin & Amelia's) was helping to put Jaxson's paci (soother to the canadians) back in his mouth. It was cute to watch!
Getting ready for his first boat ride.
Cruising the lake.

Crazy Jax and his spoon.
Jaxson fell asleep in Karen's arms during Avatar --- it was super loud, so he must have been pretty tired!
waking up to basketball lessons.
There are about 4 turtles that live by our dock. Unfortunatley, they are super sensitive to noise and movement ("private" as my dad would say). There were 4 turtles on the dock, and when I got this close (mind you the zoom is on all the way) they dove in the water.
Karen & I getting ready for a tube ride. Jax & I on before leaving to the airport to fly back to Texas. We really enjoyed our trip & spending time with family. It was also nice to get back and see Ryan -- we missed him so much! Hopefully next time he can come with us! :)

Canada Trip: part 1

I apologize for not blogging in about 3 weeks, but I have been on vacation in Canada! My brother Rob got home from his 2 year church mission on July 6th. He served faithfully in the California, Arcadia mission, spanish speaking, for 2 years. I flew into Canada on the 7th, and was greeted by my family. It was great to see them, and to show off Jaxson. This was the first time Jaxson met any of them (except for my mom, who came down to help me out when he was first born). It was also awesome seeing Rob again! He entertained us with some exciting & spiritual stories from the past 2 years. It was also super fun to see the grandparents & to show off Jaxson to them too. Here is the first post of my trip. enjoy!

Up at the farm in Lethbridge with Grandma & Grandpa French. Jaxson was super happy to meet them.

4 generation photo

We also visited Grandma & Grandpa Low in Cardston. Grandpa was entertaining Jaxson by making funny noises. He was even kind enough to let Jax pull on his cowboy tie -- hope it didn't choke him too bad :(

July 4th

We are so grateful to those who have fought for our freedom!! We started our 4th of July festivities by going to church. Thanks to our free country, Joseph Smith was able to restore the true Gospel on the earth. Ryan and I thank Heavenly Father every day that we have the gospel in our lives. We appreciate the guidance, direction, and purpose it gives to us. After church and some time at home, we embarked on a 3.5 mile walk down the boardway to the heritage park party. Jaxson thought the petting zoo was pretty cool, although he did grab the goats fur pretty hard and wouldn't let go. He just loves looking at everything around him, thus it is kind of difficult to get a picture of him looking at the camera if we are doing something even remotely cool. After the petting zoo, we took a try at the strongest man/hammer game. I lost! When we got home, we made some gourmet burgers, sweet potato fries, and peach ice cream - yum!! It was a fun day to spend with Ryan before Jaxson and I leave to go back to Canada for a couple of weeks. We are going to miss him so much- LOVE YOU RYAN!
Petting the Goat.

Petting the baby horsey.
Trying to grab the goat.
Trying to grab the baby piggy.
The goat eating Ryan's shirt -- he did some serious damage!

Trying to make the bell ring. I got close a few times but was unsuccessful. I believe it wasn't because of a lack of strength, but a lack of form. Ryan went up and swing half heartedly and rang the bell easy. I think he needed one twice that big to give him a challenge.
Failure! I think I needed to follow through more, and to hit the box with the flat of the hammer. I want to go back and try again because my pride is hurt. I know this picture looks weak sauce but I thought I was swinging hard??
Family picture along the water.
One of Jaxson's new favorite things to do -- eat my jewlery.
Where we take our weekly stroll each Sunday. We love to watch the pelicans dive into the water & to watch the kite surfers do flips n' tricks. My 2 handsome & tired boys.
My dinner creation. Beef, bacon, cheese, tomato, lettuce, red onion, ketchup, mushrooms ....mmmmmmm yum.

Sitting up

Jaxson is starting to sit up on his own pretty well. Here is just a cute video of my crazy little man. We love him!!

The Circus

A couple of days ago we were watching TV, and a commercial for the Ringling Brothers Circus - Zing Zang Zoom- came on. They were doing shows here in Corpus Christi today & tomorrow (4th). I was super excited because I haven't ever been to the circus. Anyway, we took Jaxson today and we had a blast. Jaxson thought it was pretty cool too, although he did take a 20 minute nap in the middle of all the LOUD noises. Some of our favorites of the day were the tight rope, dog trick show, tigers, elephants holding each others tails, trapeez, disappearing acts, and the people being shot out of the cannon. Here a a few shots of before the show and during. Notice that Jaxson isn't ever looking at the camera -- he was looking at all the craziness going on around him haha. Enjoy!
