Happy Halloweenie!!

It was our ward Halloween/Chili Cook-off/trunk or treat party on Saturday. To my recollection, it was my first time making chili (i may have made it once before?). I love making my own recipes and trying to cook new things. We had a ton of fun at the party and I even won "People's choice Chili" and "Most creative costume." Sweet!

Jaxson and I outside the church. Can you tell what I am?
This should give you a better clue!
Ok ok ... I was a pencil. Yep, I am a loser!
Jaxson got this awesome outfit from the Lady I completed my student teaching with. She went on a trip to Hong Kong while I was there teaching, and brought this back for Jaxson. I think it looks adorable on him!
Jaxson and Daddy.
Here is Jaxson and his (girl)friend Addi. They like to play together during play group and visiting teaching.
Jaxson and his neighborhood friends. Left to right: Tyler, Jaxson (duh!), Sean, Trevor
Ryan and Jaxson fishing for a prize. This was one of my favorite things to doing at my Halloween ward party growing up.
Jaxson scored big at the trunk or treat. Can you see the red lolipop slobber all over his white onesie? He loved it! It was so cute because he was sharing with me too. He would take a big lick, then he would put it in my mouth for a few seconds, then back to his. repeated. Some may think that is gross, but I thought it was so nice of him to share!
Me and my awards! Hoorah for me! I shared these big hershey bars with my Young Woman's class the next day during my lesson.

Pumpkin Patch

Last week for play group we drove an hour to the Marble Falls pumpkin patch. It was a fun little day trip for all us girls to go out and do. We ate some yummy pumpkin and berry ice cream, went on a hay ride, & took pictures by the pumpkins. This is Emily, V, and I waiting outside the maze while the "older kids" (3 yrs old) went an navigated the maze.
Here is the lil' pumpkin himself!

"ooo" his favorite!

On the Hay ride with mommy! It was fun :)

Texas State Fair

Yesterday we drove 3 hours to Dallas for the State Fair. I haven't ever been to a fair (I know, deprived right?) so I was super oober excited to go. We left at 5 am! We make it to the fair a little after it opens at 8am, and it was pretty deserted! haha, oops! It was actually nice to walk around and get situated before everything got crazy.
This man was giant!
My favorite part of the fair was the petting zoo. I think I was having more fun than all the little kids running around petting animals. I was running around too, I am just a bigger kid.
Yes this is a big camel. awesome!
Of course, I love giraffes. Maybe one day I will have one as a pet!

By the pig pen - these pigglets were cute! I wish we could have watched the pigglet races, but they were later at night and we were there in the morning. Oh well, next time!
Jaxson, our little piglet.
After washing our hands about 3 times, we went to go get a snack. These beautiful morsels are deep friend cookie dough. Yes, that is correct. Heaven on a stick! Actually, they were pretty good, but after I snarfed them down, I didn't feel so good for about 2 hours (but then I wanted more --- I guess its a love/hate relationship?)
We went back to the petting zoo b/c it was so cool. Ryan was super brave to feed them -- they peck pretty hard at the food. There was a sign that said "we are not responsible for accidents." I guess it is a deterent for the faint hearted.
HAHA. I imagine this is how many moms feel -- drained of energy b/c they have tons of kids. My favorite part of this picture is that the runt is sitting on another sibling to nurse.
Ryan with the Kangaroo --- it was so cute!
Jaxson loved looking at all the goats and chickens. I love the way he is standing!

OOO a goat!

Super cool pumpkin carving - Just like on food network!
This is in the green house - tons of pretty plants!
We also went into a butterfly exhibit. It was a big room with lots of plants and butterflies flying around. These blue ones were our favorites!
Ryan teaching Jaxson about butterflies with his copious amounts of knowledge on the subject.
Ryan purchased a giant turkey leg!
and he likes it. He was rather full when he was finished, and if you knew Ryan, that is saying a lot!
We also went to the BYU vs. TCU game. It was a good game up until 2mins left in the first half, then things kinda fell apart. It was fun though! We are still cougar fans no matter what! (well at least I am, Ryan is still dedicated to the gamecocks pretty good).
It was a long day for Jaxson. He didn't really get his naps and wasn't on a regular eating schedule. He did really well though! He is just taking a cat nap at the football game.

He's "Talking"

Here is my nice and sharing messy eater. Actually, I don't think he was trying to share. Rather, he was trying to grab the camera. Recently he won't let me feed him with a spoon. Any suggestions?

Jaxson has taking a liking to all the cupboards in the kitchen. As you can see, there are some that I keep shut with hair elastics, but there are 3 that are single ones. He likes to open these ones. Yesterday he found all my onions and tried to put the nasty shells in his mouth. It suprises me the things he puts in his mouth. About 10 minutes ago I tried to feed him some delicious zuchinni and he didn't like it, but when I let him hold my keys, he put the nasty metal in his mouth. I don't get it.
Onion Eater!
We went to Ryan's football game last night. Ryan did super good as QB.
Happy boy.
Just a few videos of Jaxson's funny noises, babblings, and laughs. I love this kid!

Don't Hate me ... Another Update!

I have to admit .... I check my blog probably 3 times a day to see who has updated their blogs. I love looking at what people are up to, & I love looking at new recipes. I have been a slacker lately with updating my blog. I am sorry! If you are really upset about it, you can come down here to Texas and we can talk face to face :) aka. anyone can come visit me!! I feel like all of my posts are called "update" or something similar to that. Lame, I know. I am a dork :( Here is my little in-excusable excuse. Ryan was in SPAIN! So sweet eh? He got to go with one of his graduate classes. He also had the camera, so I thought it would be a good time to be lazy with taking pictures and blogging. Enough talk --- here is what has been going down at the Harbor Home the last little while....

Ryan is in Spain. Lucky! Actually, after hearing how they had to do school work 12+ hours a day, I was kinda glad I wasn't there. PLUS, now that Jaxson is crawling and so mobile, a 10 hour plane ride would have been a nightmare. Yikes, it makes me shudder just thinking about it.
Ow ow. what a hottie!
Cliff Jumping.

Now for our little crazy man. I decided to put the bumper back up in the crib because (#1.) I figured Jaxson is big enough now that he will move if he can't breathe (#2.) I wanted to be able to put 5 pacifiers in the crib so in the middle of the night he can find one (so I don't have to come and put it back into his mouth). OHHHHYAAAA! so when Ryan was gone, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to teach Jaxson how to sleep --- aka, crying it out. We had such a busy summer travelling, he had been sleeping not-so-good for 9 months. Well, he is now successfully trained to sleep about 11 hours a night. I didn't know anything could make me so happy! :)
Naky man. After I get him out of the tub, I attempt to put a diaper on him, but as soon as I upwrap the towel, he sprints off. We have learned not to leave the bathroom door open. Jaxson also loves to open the drawers and pull out everything inside. That may or may not explain why there was a bobbypin in my hair dryer -- which spit firing metal pieces out of the end (which burned holes in the carpet) when I plugged it in. I am not blaming Jaxson ... but I am just saying .... it is a possibility??

This may or may not be eclair cake.
Jaxson is our happy boy. He had a tooth pop out a while ago, but it has slowly being showing up more. Can you see it? Its on the bottom on the left. We just discovered the other middle bottom one is going to make an apperance soon.

Jaxson's new sound is "ooooooooo." It is so cute to see him go ooooooo when he is interesting in something. Today at the grocery store, someone asked me Jax was trying to whistle. Nope- he just likes to ooooooooo. I love this picture because his eyes are just big and cute!
Wow, was it ever hard to try and get a picture of Jaxson's tooth. Out of about 20 photos, only two had the tooth showing. Jaxson isn't too happy in this picture, but at least you can see his tooth. This picture also shows how amazingly long Jaxson's eye lashes are. Jealous!
Jaxson loves cheese. I wonder where he gets that from....
Just a video to show you Jaxson's "ooooooo". Enjoy!
