Announcing.... Avery Joan

Our little girl is here -- she arrived on March 22nd, at 12:43 pm. I went to the hospital to be induced at 5am, and the doctor broke my water at 7:30. Ryan arrived around 8:30, after he dropped off Jaxson at a friend house. By around 9:30-10 ish, the contractions were starting to hurt, so I went ahead and got an epidural. Ryan and I started watching a movie, and at noon, the nurse came in and checked me and said I was ready to push. I was so shocked, I couldn't believe how fast it came. Well, my doctor was in surgury, so she didn't come for another 30 minutes. Once she got there, I pushed 4 times and our little angel (Avery Joan) was here! Labor and delivery were so much nicer this time around!! (although the after math wasn't as good ... I had to stay in L&D for another 24 hours to get my bleeding under control).

My little girl a few seconds after she was born.
Avery Jo weighed 6 lbs, 13 oz (exactly 1 pound lighter than Jaxson). The ultrasound tech thought she was going to be around 8 lbs, because she was measuring 7+ lbs a week and a half before she was born.
I love this little girl!! She has been such a wonderful baby. She nurses really well & she is sleeping well at night. I only got up once last night to feed her, because she did two 5 hour stretches). Ususally she eats every 4 hours at night, so I only have to get up twice. Either way, I am so impressed with her!

Daddy is so proud of his little girl!

Jaxson is very excited about his new baby sister. I love his face in this photo...

Right before going home.

Ready to go home

In the pack n' play at home.

Found her doing this ... thought it was pretty funny. Jaxson actually does the same thing when he is picking out a snack or what to wear. He puts his finger to his mouth and says "Let me see" as he taps his finger to his mouth. What a funny kid!

She was hungry and not enjoying the water too much.

Well that is our little girl. We are so happy and proud to be her parents. It is amazing how much love you can have for a person instantly. We are so happy she choose our family and just love her to pieces!!

Ok ... 1 More Post

Ok, so this is my last post before we meet our baby girl tomorrow. Yesterday, Jaxson was being his cute self and pulled out his "football" hat (it is actually Ryan's dad's hat from when he was a wee lad). Well, Jaxson puts it on and plays football.
Kicking the ball

saying cheese, although the TV was on, so he wouldn't look at me to say it

Last Post Before I Deliver ....

I am just going to assume this is the past blog post I do before we met our new little girl, who is arriving on Thursday. Can't believe it is almost here! I feel bad I haven't taken many photos lately ... I have been working hard at getting my etsy shop bigger and getting my name out there. Business is picking up, which is great, but I hope I can grow it more. So if you haven't seen it, or if you are on facebook, please "like" my page and tell all your friends! thanks!

A few weekends ago, I did my first craft fair. I spent a lot of time getting ready for it, and it went fairly well. I think next time, I would love to be inside (it was cold and windy! and that is saying something because I am always so hot) and I think if it was more of a specified craft fair (a baby expo) that it would be more productive. Well, here is a photo of my little table :)

My friend Emily (who use to live in Austin but has since moved) came back for a visit. I drove up from San Antonio and met with all the friends. Jaxson was excited to see his friend, Addi again. They have both grown up so much!

One morning trying to get photos of Jaxson because I hadn't taken photos of him in a while.

walking around in my running shoes

Love this shirt - "Most Awesome Big Brother". Jaxson is going to be an great big bro.

The car seat cover I made a couple of months ago. I just didn't have a car seat to put it on to take a photo.

About a month ago, I went up to Austin for a baby shower my friend Heidi threw for me. This is me and her. She was awesome to organize everything -- it was so great seeing my friends again!!

I miss these girls!

Ok ... now 4 more days till little baby girl Harbor makes her apperance!

President's Day Rodeo

Last weekend was awesome because Ryan had President's Day off and we enjoyed the rodeo that was going on here in SA. Before I get to that, check out Jaxson -- He insisted on mopping on Saturday during our weekly clean. It was cute to watch him work, although I think he just loved putting the mop in the bucket (not wringing it out) and soaking the floor :)

Ok, now to the Rodeo.... Jaxson the sheep

Looking at baby chicks ... I wanted to hold one so bad!
They had tractors set up everywhere for kids to "ride." Jax thought this was awesome!

Riding the horse and lassoing the sheep

HEB put on an exhibit where the kids learned about nutrition, gathered plastic food in their buckets, and traded it in for a treat (celery sticks) at the end. Jax loved gathering the plastic food, it was hard to get him to only put 1 of each in his basket.

Chickens

Walking around the petting zoo --- slightly chaotic actually. All the animals, parents, and kids were all walking around in this small fenced in area. I was taking a picture of Jaxson and basically got knocked over by this large goat ...

I was too slow getting a picture of Jaxson petting (he was more like slapping the animals this time ... we need to practice petting softly) the pot bellied pig, but I love how his face shows how excited he was!

So you will notice that often times Jaxson has his hand on his head in our photos. It is so hard to get him to look at me when I am taking a photo, so I tell him there is a basketball on my head -- this is the result. At least he is looking right? What handsome twins!

Jaxson trying to feed the baby lamb ... awe

These baby goats were so adorable!

Deer at the petting zoo? I guess so - they had a couple in there.

CHEESE~!

About 5 minutes after taking this photo, I bought cookie dough on a stick (covered in chocolate and coconut) ... YUMMY! It was a fun day at the rodeo :)

The Serengeti Resort

For Christmas, we received a voucher for an animal tour at the Serengeti resort, about 30 minutes north of our house (thanks to ryan's parents!). Last Saturday we drove up and went on our own little safari. We drove around a golf cart and attempted to feed the animals that were there (camel, zebra, deer, giraffe, ostritch, Kudu, etc.) It was so much fun (other than the fact it was 46 degrees outside and we didn't dress quite warm enough...)

Jaxson LOVED driving the golf cart. He has been enjoying the movie "Cars" lately, and has also been playing a driving nintendo-type game. So he thought this was awesome! (check out the movie at the bottom)
The first animal we met was this camel --- He was very gentle and loved the food.
While we were feeding the camel, I looked back and saw this guy. I snapped a quick picture and then went back to taking photos of Ryan and Jaxson feeding the camel. I then felt something bite my back. I literally started screaming (not out of pain, but of suprise and fear). The zebra then bit my jacket and tried to pull me out of the golf cart. I am still screaming and trying to hold on for dear life. I guess this is what they ment when they said "be careful of the zebra and ostrich." I managed to get my jacket back and shew the animal away, while I am yelling to Ryan to drive away. Traumatic .... haha. Once we got away, I was laughing histerically - I got attacked by a zebra! Never thought that would happen to me.

The ostritch ... "don't feed him from your hand" we were told. We would throw the food a ways from the cart, but he kept coming closer and closer, so I would freak out and tell Ryan to drive! I was still scared from the whole zebra incident.

Yaaaa, my favorite, the giraffe.

Jaxson didn't want to look at me long enough to take a picture- too much fun!

Giant Kudu's. Didn't want to try and feed these guys, they looked too dangerous.

The camel is the only one we could feed for most of our trip.

Happy Family

One last attempt to feed the giraffe was a success. YES! I love feeding giraffe's. I had almost the entire bag of food left, so I got to feed him for a while - awesome! Such a cute animal :)

We saw these cute lemur's on the way out.

This is my jacket where the zebra tried to eat me. Dirty mouth!

A quick video of Jaxson driving the cart .... love this kid!

33 weeks

Just an update on the pregnancy ... I am 2 days shy of 33 weeks, and I am still feeling good. My baby is measuring pretty big (90th % -- is already 5 ish lbs). Her head is measuring really big ... yikes! We finally got a profile of this little girl today (she always is hiding and has her hands in front of her face). Can't wait to meet her in just a few short weeks!
