October 2012

Well it has been a good and busy month for us.  I guess it is time to officially announce we are building a house!  We are sad we will not be in the same ward (or stake even) but it will only be 5 minutes away and we can still see our friends whenever we want.  It is just north of where we live now, in a new neighborhood.  We are excited to have more space (we are in a 2 bedroom apartment and Avery still sleeps in the pack n' play next to our bed) and to have a backyard!  I am guessing we will be moving into it in January after the holidays.
We have had a couple of "cooler" days here in San Antonio, and I am really looking to many more (cross fingers!).  We actually put on long sleeves and didn't die of heat.  We enjoyed family walk around our large apartment complex and fields.  Jaxson loves playing "follow the leader" so we followed him - it was a fun Sunday activity.
WARNING: This photo may be too graphic for some?  Maybe if you have a weak stomach?  I dunno, this happens quite often at our house, so I am use to it.  Not ashamed of taking pictures of it.  Messy messy girl.  She did this 3 times (to this extent) in 48 hours.  Once when I just got to the gym to work out, once on my way to the dentist, and once here at home.  Taught me a valuable lesson: bring extra clothes for Avery (she hadn't really done this before, so I never did.)  Her new nickname?  The Bad Gasser.
So just in case you weren't aware ... Avery Started crawling just after 6 months.  Yep, crazy girl.  Sad (yet excited) Mommy.  She is getting much faster and needs to be watched much more carefully.  A week after crawling, she started standing up - on everything.  Guess she is trying to keep up with her energizer bunny brother Jaxson.
This is a classic Avery face, and I love it.  She wrinkles up her nose and smiles, and makes this funny noise - love this girl!
You may be wondering about her helmet not being on ... Well, she has it on for 23 hours of the day, and then 1 hour off to get it cleaned and dried.  She only has to have it on another 4-6 weeks hopefully.
Last weekend, we went to a pumpkin patch ... Well, we stood in line and then decided that the 85 degree heat was too hot and we went to the children's museum instead.  Avery and Daddy flying the airplane ...
This was one of my favorites - even as an adult - I had fun playing with it.
So did Jaxson
So did Ryan ... that's his face print

Chilling in her car seat

There was grocery store area of the kids.  Jaxson knew just what to do, he grabbed a basket and started filling it up with everything.  Guess he has seen that before, MANY many many (shake my head and sigh) times.  His mommy knows how to grocery shop, if you know what I mean. For those of you who know me, I am obsessed with food.  Wish I wasn't, but I am.  At least I can admit it right?
Checking out.... Jax grabbed a lot of veggies and fruit, chocolate syrup, butter, and french bread.  Just the essentials.

Milking a cow ... didn't work, I tried it. Trust me, I know how to get milk out .... HAHA
Riding the trolley/bus thing (well, we were actually leaving, and Jax ran away, ignoring our "stop, come back here!" like he always does ...and he jumped onto the bus.  Looks like he didn't like the skeleton.  good, maybe it will teach him to listen ... not likely)

I made a little Halloween shirt for both Avery and Jax ... we haven't made/found/bought costumes for them yet.  Probably because for the majority of October, Jaxson was saying he wanted to be a Dancer - yah, weird, I know (he a girl on Disney channel say she wanted to be a dancer and I am pretty sure that's where he picked it up from)

Last but not least, a sleeping picture of Avery ... because sleeping babies are cute.
Happy (and safe!) Halloween Everyone!

6 Months Old

As of yesterday, Avery is officially 6 months old.  It is crazy to me that she is already half a year old, but I don't remember what it is like to not have 2 kids ... is that weird?  She is such a sweet little girl and we love having her in our family.  I was asked from a family member to tell a bit more about Avery (because we live so far from everyone, she wanted to know more about Avery's personality).

* She is one squirmy girl - she loves to move around and jump.  She gets up on her hands and knee's and rocks back and forth - I am nervous she might start crawling any day.

* She is a Momma's girl.  She will go to other people, but she is constantly looking for me in the room, and lights up when I make eye contact with her and smile (I love it too)

* She laughs up a storm when Jaxson plays with her

* When she is getting upset and about to start crying, she starts saying "Deeeshhh deeesshh" its kinda funny.

* She has tried sweet potatoes and squash and liked them.  She gagged on the peas (don't blame her really)

* She loves to give me kisses.  She grabs my face, hair, or ears and pulls me in for a big wet smooch.

* She loves chewing on her feet and everything else she can get to her mouth (including paper).

So that's just a bit about our little Avery girl.  Now for some photos .... This was last week before church.  I love having a little baby that actually resembles me (at least more than Jaxson did)

The other day I was working on etsy stuff on the computer, and I smelt poop.  I asked Jaxson if it was him, and he said no.  Now, even when I know 100% sure Jaxson pooped himself, he tells me he didn't.  So I figured it was him, and waited a couple minutes to change him.  Well, I turned around and found this ....  Yep - it was Avery.  Man, that took me a good 20-30 minutes to bath Avery, clean the toys, etc...
Avery at 6 months (this morning).  She is back in her helmet - hope it fixes her head soon and we can be done with it :)

She loves tummy time (Jaxson hated it).
She is doing pretty good at sitting on her own (for a little bit at least).

Some young boy is officially Paci-Free.  We prepped him for a while saying the Paci Fairy was going to come and give him some nerf guns if he gave her his paci's.  Even after 3 weeks of asking him if he was ready to give up his paci's, he said no.  So we finally just took them away and the next morning he had some cool guns to play with (these nerf "jolt" guns are awesome - they shoot so far... we actually bought 3 so Ryan, Jaxson, and I could each play with them at the same time :).  Jax was pretty mad about his paci's for about 2-3 days, but he is over it now.  He didn't sleep as long at night or during his nap during that time, but I his schedule is getting back to normal.  Here is the little guy posing with his new toys.

private blog?

**I did just do a new post - so look below this one.

BUT...

I am thinking of making my blog private.... what do you think? I just don't like the fact that I can google image search my name and have my photos show up...

Any advice? Please leave me your email address if you still want to follow me (if I decide to change)...

6 Years and Counting

On August 29th, Ryan and I celebrated our 6th year wedding anniversary!  I love this man so much and am so grateful he is my best friend and companion.  He is the cutest daddy and hubby!  We talked Rhonda in coming out to see us and help us with the kids for a week.  We took full advantage of being able to go out on our own --- went to dinner/lunch a few times, out to a movie, played early-morning basketball, late-night volleyball, and went to the temple.  I really enjoyed being able to spend some time with Ryan.
"Guh Goh" or so Jaxson says, and the grand kiddo's.  Thank you for coming to see us! We had a blast :)
Jaxson has been obsessed with shooting bow and arrow's lately (him and ryan play a hunting game on the wii).  So Jaxson has lots of hangers or "bow n' arrows" that he shoots on a daily basis.  His favorite things to shoot are mountain lions, puma's, bears, deer, and buffalo.
We all went to the zoo after Ryan got off work - we enjoyed it, although it was still way too hot to be outside blahhh...

 flamingo's
The ant-eater.  He was super cool, reminded us of a sloth (in his movements at least)
Hippos!  These guys were way cool - we got to see them during their feeding time.  They went up to the window like this and opened their mouths, while the workers dropped food into their mouths.

Yep- Avery now has a helmet (to fix a flat spot on her head).  Hopefully she only has to have it on 3-4 months ... cross your fingers.
 The BIG rhino
I decided it was about time for Avery to get a taste of the oh-so-delicious rice cereal.  All and all, she did pretty good.  She wasn't gulping it down (like Jaxson did) but she did alright.  Her face kinda tells you what she was thinking...

"What is this stuff?!"
Jaxson's best friend, Claire, moved away this week, sniff sniff.  We had Claire and Jacquee over on Monday for swimming and a bbq before they left Saturday morning.  These two are so cute together.  Jaxson just lights up when he see's her, and is telling me often that he loves his Claire Bear.

Warning ... these screams are very high-pitched!
Jax had fun sliding down Guh Goh's air mattress.
Loves him some jello footballs.  Well, maybe he likes the idea of jello footballs better than actually eating them ... he usually just makes a mess of them.  Either way, he loves it.

Just a couple more photos of my sweet football player ... I mean girl.  Anyone have any pink BYU or Y stickers?  We wanna put one on the side of her helmet :)
