Surprise!

NO NO .... I am NOT pregnant. But I am a brunette! :) plus, it has finally cooled down enough so I got a hair cut with bangs. yaaaa! (p.s. when I say cool off enough, I mean it is in the 80's)

Halloween Cookies!

It an attempt to get festive for the upcoming holiday, we decided to decorate Halloween cookies. Let me narrate for you.

"You want me to eat this?"
"Ok, i guess I will give it a try." Just check out his face - I imagine a 10 year old making it, not my 10 month old.
"Hmmm ... not too bad."
After about 20 mins of decorating. "AHHH, get me out of here!" FYI, he went straight to the tub, where we attmepted to get orance frosting out of his hair and ears.
I know, so artistic right?
Ryan made some really good pumpkin cookies.
The finished product. We still have them in the fridge, if you want to stop by and help us eat them.

Happy Halloweenie!!

It was our ward Halloween/Chili Cook-off/trunk or treat party on Saturday. To my recollection, it was my first time making chili (i may have made it once before?). I love making my own recipes and trying to cook new things. We had a ton of fun at the party and I even won "People's choice Chili" and "Most creative costume." Sweet!

Jaxson and I outside the church. Can you tell what I am?
This should give you a better clue!
Ok ok ... I was a pencil. Yep, I am a loser!
Jaxson got this awesome outfit from the Lady I completed my student teaching with. She went on a trip to Hong Kong while I was there teaching, and brought this back for Jaxson. I think it looks adorable on him!
Jaxson and Daddy.
Here is Jaxson and his (girl)friend Addi. They like to play together during play group and visiting teaching.
Jaxson and his neighborhood friends. Left to right: Tyler, Jaxson (duh!), Sean, Trevor
Ryan and Jaxson fishing for a prize. This was one of my favorite things to doing at my Halloween ward party growing up.
Jaxson scored big at the trunk or treat. Can you see the red lolipop slobber all over his white onesie? He loved it! It was so cute because he was sharing with me too. He would take a big lick, then he would put it in my mouth for a few seconds, then back to his. repeated. Some may think that is gross, but I thought it was so nice of him to share!
Me and my awards! Hoorah for me! I shared these big hershey bars with my Young Woman's class the next day during my lesson.

Pumpkin Patch

Last week for play group we drove an hour to the Marble Falls pumpkin patch. It was a fun little day trip for all us girls to go out and do. We ate some yummy pumpkin and berry ice cream, went on a hay ride, & took pictures by the pumpkins. This is Emily, V, and I waiting outside the maze while the "older kids" (3 yrs old) went an navigated the maze.
Here is the lil' pumpkin himself!

"ooo" his favorite!

On the Hay ride with mommy! It was fun :)

Texas State Fair

Yesterday we drove 3 hours to Dallas for the State Fair. I haven't ever been to a fair (I know, deprived right?) so I was super oober excited to go. We left at 5 am! We make it to the fair a little after it opens at 8am, and it was pretty deserted! haha, oops! It was actually nice to walk around and get situated before everything got crazy.
This man was giant!
My favorite part of the fair was the petting zoo. I think I was having more fun than all the little kids running around petting animals. I was running around too, I am just a bigger kid.
Yes this is a big camel. awesome!
Of course, I love giraffes. Maybe one day I will have one as a pet!

By the pig pen - these pigglets were cute! I wish we could have watched the pigglet races, but they were later at night and we were there in the morning. Oh well, next time!
Jaxson, our little piglet.
After washing our hands about 3 times, we went to go get a snack. These beautiful morsels are deep friend cookie dough. Yes, that is correct. Heaven on a stick! Actually, they were pretty good, but after I snarfed them down, I didn't feel so good for about 2 hours (but then I wanted more --- I guess its a love/hate relationship?)
We went back to the petting zoo b/c it was so cool. Ryan was super brave to feed them -- they peck pretty hard at the food. There was a sign that said "we are not responsible for accidents." I guess it is a deterent for the faint hearted.
HAHA. I imagine this is how many moms feel -- drained of energy b/c they have tons of kids. My favorite part of this picture is that the runt is sitting on another sibling to nurse.
Ryan with the Kangaroo --- it was so cute!
Jaxson loved looking at all the goats and chickens. I love the way he is standing!

OOO a goat!

Super cool pumpkin carving - Just like on food network!
This is in the green house - tons of pretty plants!
We also went into a butterfly exhibit. It was a big room with lots of plants and butterflies flying around. These blue ones were our favorites!
Ryan teaching Jaxson about butterflies with his copious amounts of knowledge on the subject.
Ryan purchased a giant turkey leg!
and he likes it. He was rather full when he was finished, and if you knew Ryan, that is saying a lot!
We also went to the BYU vs. TCU game. It was a good game up until 2mins left in the first half, then things kinda fell apart. It was fun though! We are still cougar fans no matter what! (well at least I am, Ryan is still dedicated to the gamecocks pretty good).
It was a long day for Jaxson. He didn't really get his naps and wasn't on a regular eating schedule. He did really well though! He is just taking a cat nap at the football game.
